Last month I promised that I'll introduce you to a new recipe with
a Mediterranean twist, so here it is. It's like the old traditional
shawrma, but with a homemade feel and few more layers! :D you can add
more or less, it really whatever you want to taste! :D
Layer 1: Fried aubergine/eggplants I used 3 ( you can use potatoes if you prefer, but you'd need more oil to fry it).
start with cutting the eggplant,
and adding salt on them &
putting them aside for a bit |
add a little oil and fry the eggplant,
not fully, just almost when they turn
a little golden |
Oil the pan, and put the first layer in! |
first layer in the pan :D |
Layer 2: Colored peppers ( you don't have to add it, but they give a nice taste!) I used one of each color
wash the peppers and cut them |
half fry the peppers |
add the second layer on the first |
Layer 3: Fried Onions & Chicken (the Shawrma part!) used 2 boneless breasts
prepare the breasts to be cut. It's
fast and easy to use scissors |
cute it to small squares & leave it |
cut the onions |
stir it in the pan,
and then add one oil spoon |
until it turns golden |
then add the chicken plus the spices |
and yummy it's ready.
You can just eat it like this lool,
or continue |
then add it on top! YUM |
Layer 4: Chickpeas (from the can!) lol
add them on top of the chicken |
Layer 5: Mixed Sauce ( add sesame sauce "tihniah" 1/2 cup + double cream + 2 olive oil spoons + 3 spoons lemons + spices)
mix it alllll, taste it while you are
making it to check the taste |
spread it on top of the layers |
add some paprika for show |
Now COOK IT! :)
inside the oven for 30mins
on medium heat |
Enjoy it!
you can wrap it with pita bread
and NOM NOM NOM |
