File Transfer Protocol Basics

Many users do not know that FTP can be a very valuable utility regarding file and data transferring. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, which is designed to aid in transferring files over the Internet. The applications for FTP go beyond simply transferring a file from computer to computer. You can set up your computer as the FTP server or create an account with an FTP service provider. Some versions of Windows will allow you to act as the FTP server. Fling is another FTP program to consider. Unlike other software options, Fling supports both internet file transfer protocol (ftp) and network file transfer. If you control a large amount of data, whether it is one or more websites or files, this is the best software for the job.
